Good works will not save you

Good Works will not Save You

healingofthenationsministries.org

A man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.  Galatians 2:16

It was because of his faith that Enoch was promoted to the eternal world without experiencing death. He disappeared from this world because God promoted him, and before that happened his reputation was that “he pleased God”. And without faith it is impossible to please him. The man who approaches God must have faith in two things, first that God exists and secondly that it is worth a man’s while to try to find God. Hebrews  11:5-6

This man whom God raised never saw corruption! It is therefore imperative, men and brothers, that every one of you should realize that forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you through this man. And through faith in him a man is absolved from all those things from which the Law of Moses could never set him free.
Acts 13:37-39

But now we are seeing the righteousness of God declared quite apart from the Law (though amply testified to by both Law and Prophets)—it is a righteousness imparted to, and operating in, all who have faith in Jesus Christ. (For there is no distinction to be made anywhere: everyone has sinned, everyone falls short of the beauty of God’s plan.)  Under this divine system a man who has faith is now freely acquitted in the eyes of God by his generous dealing in the redemptive act of Jesus Christ. God has appointed him as the means of propitiation, a propitiation accomplished by the shedding of his blood, to be received and made effective in ourselves by faith. God has done this to demonstrate his righteousness both by the wiping out of the sins of the past (the time when he withheld his hand), and by showing in the present time that he is a just God and that he justifies every man who has faith in Jesus Christ.   Romans 3:22-26

Before the coming of faith we were all imprisoned under the power of the Law, with our only hope of deliverance the faith that was to be shown to us. Or, to change the metaphor, the Law was like a strict governess in charge of us until we went to the school of Christ and learned to be justified by faith in him. Once we had that faith we were completely free from the governess’s authority.
For now that you have faith in Christ you are all sons of God. All of you who were baptised “into” Christ have put on the family likeness of Christ. Gone is the distinction between Jew and Greek, slave and free man, male and female—you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, you are true descendants of Abraham, you are true heirs of his promise.  Galatians 2:24-29

Healing to your Soul

www.healingofthenationsministries.org

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2

The English word soul is traced back in the Hebrew as a word pronounced nay-fesh, which literally means a breathing creature.  It can be translated as soul, life, person, mind, heart, creature, body, himself, yourselves, dead, will, desire, man, themselves and appetite.

In the Greek it is a word pronounced psoo-kay,  which means life's breath or breathing and is translated as soul, life, mind and heart.  According to the Holy Scriptures, a soul is a living, breathing creature that eventually dies.

We are able to prosper in our soul by meditating on the word.
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.   Do not let them depart from your eyes;  keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all your flesh.  Proverbs 4:20-22

Here we see that by attending to the Word day and night and keeping it in the midst of our hearts we can have life and divine healing in our bodies.  In today's economy when the price of prescription drugs has increased so much that people cannot afford them this is good news!  No matter what illness you are experiencing if you keep the word in the midst of your heart it will bring you life and healing in your body.

The word for health in Hebrew is marpê’, which means “medicine.” You can consider speaking the Word over your life as taking daily doses of God’s medicine

Jesus said , " It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."

John 6:63

So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Deut 8:3

It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.  Matt 4:4

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”
And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.  John 6:32-35

Jesus said , "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.  John 10:10

Since God’s words are life and health, the more you dwell on God’s words and thoughts, the healthier and stronger you’ll become spiritually, emotionally and physically. Attending to God’s Word heals, cures and profits you it causes you to have a sound, tranquil, relaxed mind.  It delivers you from calamity, is a remedy for what ails you and refreshes both your body and mind.

The condition of your soul is very important to God.

What does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.  Deuteronomy 10:12

Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sins shall die. Ezekiel 18:4

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?  Matt 16:26

He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:2-6

O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Psalm 30:3

The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. Psalm 34:22

For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry.  Now the just shall live by faith;but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Hebrews 10:37-39

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.  James 1:21

May the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  1 Thessalonians 5:23 RSV

Learning to Live above our Circumstances

How do we live above our Circumstances?
 www.healingofthenationsministries.org

Jesus told us that in this world we would not always have and easy life.  He spoke that the ruler of this world was already judged.
We are in this world but we are not of this world.
And so the entrances of this world were made narrow and sorrowful and toilsome; they are few and evil, full of dangers and involved in great hardships.
2 Esdras 7:12
Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. 1 Cor 4:13
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.  1 John 4:17

Jesus warned us saying "They will put you out of the synagogues; indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.  And they will do this because they have not known the Father, nor me.  But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you of them.  But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your hearts.
When a woman is in travail she has sorrow, because her hour has come; but when she is delivered of the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a child is born into the world.
So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father, he will give it to you in my name.  Hitherto you have asked nothing in my name; ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.  I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world
John 16

In order to live above our circumstances we must spend time with him. How can we expect to overcome if we neglect so great a salvation which God has given us?   We ought, therefore, to pay the greatest attention to the truth that we have heard and not allow ourselves to drift away from it. For if the
message given through angels proved authentic, so that defiance of it and disobedience to it received appropriate retribution, how shall we escape if we refuse to pay proper attention to the salvation that is offered us today?
For this salvation came first through the words of the Lord himself: it was confirmed for our hearing by men who had heard him speak, and God moreover has plainly endorsed their witness by signs and miracles, by all kinds of spiritual power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, all working to the divine plan.
Hebrews 2:1-4

We are not to allow the worries of this world and the false glamour of riches and all sorts of other ambitions creep in and choke the life out of what we have heard making us unfruitful.  I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  If a man does not abide in me, he is cast forth as a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned.  If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.  By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples. John 15:5-8

When we spend time with Him He is able to make us strong so be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Ephes 6:10   In all our circumstances God knows that we are going to require His strength to overcome it.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Cor 12:10

In order to live above our Circumstances we must not have an unrealistic view of how our life should be. We think that because others aren't suffering the way we are that we shouldn't have to.  We sit and feel sorry for ourselves because we had false visions of how our lives should be.  The bible tells us that all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 2 Tim 3:12
Are we any better than the early believers?   The total number of Christians martyred in the early church is unknown.  Besides being put to death they were made to serve as objects of amusement.  They were clothed in the hides of beast and torn to death by dogs. Some were crucified and others were set on fire at night to serve as a torch when night fell.

It has been estimated that more Christians have been martyred in the last 50 years than in the church's first 300 years. According to the World Evangelical Alliance, over 200 million Christians are denied fundamental human rights solely because of their faith. Of the 100-200 million Christians being assaulted, the majority are persecuted in Muslim-dominated nations. Christians suffer more than any other faith group.

The early church had Saul who sought to kill them.   At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.  Acts 8:1
Don't be surprised when people rise up in a church against you.  Paul was told to hit the road. The Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, raised up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. Acts 13:50

In Order to live above our Circumstances we must have faith to believe that God will deliver us out of them.
Our circumstances force us to turn to God and cry out to him for our relief.  It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6

If we have faith God will intervene on our behalf and our circumstances we can ask for HIS help.  Jesus said "Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?  Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?  If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" Matt 7: 7-11
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to our cry.  When we cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers us out of all our troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.  Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivers him out of them all.  He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.  Evil shall slay the wicked; and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.  The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. Psalm 34:15-22

In order to live above our circumstances we must take up our cross and follow Jesus.
We all have stuff that is going on in our lives that we have no control over. These things we wish God would just step in and change but sometimes these are the very crosses that we must bear for His glory to equip us for the days ahead.  We know not what tomorrow will bring but we know who holds tomorrow.
Jesus said," If anyone wants to follow in my footsteps, he must give up all right to himself, carry his cross every day and keep close behind me. For the man who wants to save his life will lose it, but the man who loses his life for my sake will save it. For what is the use of a man gaining the whole world if he loses or forfeits his own soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him, when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and the holy angels."  Luke 9: 23-27

If we are his children we share his treasures, and all that Christ claims as his will belong to all of us as well! Yes, if we share in his suffering we shall certainly share in his glory.  In my opinion whatever we may have to go through now is less than nothing compared with the magnificent future God has planned for us. The whole creation is on tiptoe to see the wonderful sight of the sons of God coming into their own. The world of creation cannot as yet see reality, not because it chooses to be blind, but because in God’s purpose it has been so limited—yet it has been given hope.
And the hope is that in the end the whole of created life will be rescued from the tyranny of change and decay, and have its share in that magnificent liberty which can only belong to the children of God!  It is plain to anyone with eyes to see that at the present time all created life groans in a sort of universal travail. And it is plain, too, that we who have a foretaste of the Spirit are in a state of painful tension, while we wait for that redemption of our bodies which will mean that at last we have realized our full son-ship in him.  Romans 8:17-21

Christ Died for Us

 www.healingofthenationsministries.org

Once you were alienated and hostile in your minds because of your evil actions.  But now He has reconciled you by His physical body through His death, to present you holy, faultless, and blameless before Him—
if indeed you remain grounded and steadfast in the faith and are not shifted away from the hope of the gospel that you heard.
Col 1:21-23

For the love of Christ controls us, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died.  And he died for all, that those who live might live no longer for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; even though we once regarded Christ from a human point of view, we regard him thus no longer.  Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.  All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;  that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
1 Cor 5:14-21
Since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,  they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus,  whom God put forward as an expiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins;  it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies him who has faith in Jesus.
Romans 3:23-25

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.
Yet it was the will of the Lord to bruise him;  he has put him to grief; when he makes himself an offering for sin,
he shall see his offspring, he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand;  he shall see the fruit of the travail of his soul and be satisfied;by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,  make many to be accounted righteous; and he shall bear their iniquities.  Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death,
and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:6-12

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed be every one who hangs on a tree”—  that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:13-14
He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.  For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. 1 Peter 2:22-25

Beloved, we are God’s children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.  And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
Every one who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.  No one who abides in him sins; no one who sins has either seen him or known him.  Little children, let no one deceive you.
He who does right is righteous, as he is righteous.  He who commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God commits sin; for God’s nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God.  By this it may be seen who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not do right is not of God, nor he who does not love his brother.
